Miami and Punta Cana

Brother matthew was hired by the Marketing executive of a privately owned airport. owners being...
oscar de la renta , julio inglesies and a father, daughter and son ( the original owners of the land )
to design and do logo embleming for this new
international resort/airport in the Dominican republic, punta cana. SWANK
he called me down to Miami to help with the banner production
the team was matthew, pedro, myself and occasionally my newest sweet spot in my heart niece, sabrina kindergardener and mama illiana who speaks no english but can make the best thousand layer cake and cheviche ever! what a crew!!! the iguannas were running amoungst our strewn out and hanging
banners, they were in the trees and on the lawn I loved loved loved using bamboo and coconuts to hold things down when winds came
we graciously trashed his backyard. painting these banners front and back huge job! deliciously primitive tropical
matthews place is on the canal so we had the daily pleasures of the water wildlife as well
there's a whole nother story about how the instillation went with 3rd world help
who never saw an electric staple gun or a level,

i didn't go to that part as my passport was expired. drats!! i extended my stay another week painting with pedro to continue with more banners as we only finished half (production snafoos)
enough though for the presence to be made at the grand opening. Pedro, latin man (handsome)taking artistic direction from a whitie!! hehe we had good colorful fun

for three weeks jessica and pedro, matthews wife and brotherinlaw and mother illiana
fed us and took care of our every need as we were in crunch time production
making us stop every night to come to the supper table (amazing chilian cuisine from santiago originally)
then of course celebrating the days accomplishments with salsa dancing on the deck and chilian red wines
beautiful!

grand opening was slated for the day of inauguration, they were celebrating our president , in conjunction with the announcement to the world press
that they were ready to receive the world
wow wish i could have been there
